TechCrunch was founded on June 11, 2005 by Michael Arrington. It is a network of technology-oriented blogs and other web properties, headquartered in San Francisco, USA. TechCrunch provides news, videos and events about IT companies, technology-oriented blogs, and other web properties.
Rating: (nice, clean layout; fast)

 

HEXUS is an independent technology news and reviews website in the United Kingdom. Its core focus is PC systems and components. They also cover gaming, technology business and mobile devices. HEXUS was founded in 1998 by David Ross and became incorporated in 2005. HEXUS is based in Elstree, Borehamwood, UK.
Rating: (focus on hardware, serious tech talk)

 

WIRED

Wired is a technology news site, that split off from Wired magazine.The site is owned by Condé Nast of New York City, USA. Wired.com hosts several technology blogs on topics in transportation, security, business, new products, video games, the "GeekDad" blog on toys, creating websites, cameras, culture and science.
Rating: (slow, messed-up tablet / smart phone experience)
 

TechNode is a tech blog, written in both English and Chinese, focused on startups and tech happenings in China and Asia in general. It was founded by Dr. Gang Lu, a Chinese tech blogger. TechNode is the official partner of TechCrunch in China.
Rating: (focus on gadgets, Asia)

 

GIZMODO

Gizmodo is a design and technology blog. It is part of the Gawker Media network run by Nick Denton and runs on the Kinja platform. It was launched in 2002.
Rating: (more design and video than tech)

 

T3 is a gadgets website for geeks. It is part of Future plc, an international media group and leading digital publisher. Has sometimes hilarious news on totally useless or questionable technology ("Wi-Fi busting underpants").
